Send your documents to be signed with PDFfiller
Did you ever need to get an individual or a group of people to sign a digital document? Even if you work together or live in the same city this might present a difficulty. But what if the signers live in different cities or even countries?
In the past, you would have had to print the document and send it by post or courier, spend a considerable amount of money, and wait for days or even weeks for the document with signatures to return. Besides needing a printer and a scanner, the whole process was too time consuming.
Now there is a far easier way to request signatures. You can simply use PDFfiller to request a signature online!
To get started, upload a document to your account or open a document that’s already there. If you need to edit the document before requesting signatures, you can easily do so using our powerful editing tools.
When you’ve finished editing your document, click the “Done” button and select “SendToSign” from the drop-down list.
If you do not need to edit the document before requesting signatures, you can select it “My Documents”, then click “SendToSign” on the right.
PDFfiller offers two options to request digital signatures, “SendToEach” and “SendToGroup”.
“SendToEach” allows you to send up to 20 individual signature requests, and you’ll receive a unique copy of the document for each signature.
“SendToGroup”, which requires a professional or business plan, allows you to send an individual signature request to up to 20 people with all signatures appearing on the same document.
To create your signature request, start by adding the email address and name of the recipient. You can add more recipients by clicking “Add Another Recipient”.
For each recipient, you can specify signature only or full editing access to the document by clicking the desired setting, require them to take a photo with their webcam after signing for identity authentication by checking the respective box, and request additional documents be uploaded when they return the signed document by typing the name or description of the desired document.
You can also add a custom subject and message to the request by typing over the default text in each field.
“SendToEach” requests also have the option to use standard security or enhanced security, which requires a PIN to access the document. We will randomly generate a PIN for you or alternatively, you can create your own by typing over the default PIN. For security purposes, you must provide the PIN to recipients on your own.
“SendToGroup” allows you to type an envelope name to label your groups. Only you will be able to see this label.
Business Plan subscribers can also use the “Sign in Order” option to set the order in which “SendToGroup” recipients receive their request and sign the document. Check the “Sign in Order” box then either drag or type to the left of each recipient to set your desired order.
If you need to insert more fillable fields in the document so that each signer can fill only his respective field(s), just click “Add Fillable Fields and Assign Roles” and the document will open in the editor.
You can add a fillable field for text, number, checkbox, signature, date, and photo. First, select the field you want to add and place it anywhere in the document. Then, select from the drop-down list the person who is supposed to fill the field. Finally, create a label explaining how to fill the field.
In addition, you can create the document’s ID to track and report its SendToSign status.
When you’re ready to send your signature request, click the “SendToSign” button at the bottom of the page. We’ll send your recipients an email with a direct link to the document.
To check the status of a signature request, navigate to “Sent and History”, then “SendToSign History” on the left in “My Documents”. Here, you can see the document’s status via the icons or select a document and click “Status” for detailed information.
The status page will show you whether the document has been signed and returned and allows you to view and download attached authentication photos and additional documents if you requested them.
You can also download and view the signature certificate for the document and view the signed document from this page. You will also be able to view the certificate and status of a document in “My Documents” by selecting it and clicking the corresponding button. Once a document is returned, it is read-only and cannot be modified. For a document that has not yet been signed, you can send reminders, change the settings for each recipient, and add or remove recipients on the status page.
